OVER A BIRTHDAY DINNER AND PLAYFUL JOKES, A SHARED YEARNING EMERGED:

The lawless joy of cooking Latin street comfort foods.

Fueled by this shared passion, we decided to take a leap. In 2023 Adelita's Antojitos took to the streets of San Francisco, serving classic Latin antojitos, revisiting generations-old techniques and a handcrafted approach. With a hunger for growth and a heart full of gratitude, we applied and were accepted into La Cocina's incubator program. This incredible opportunity allows us to expand our reach, deepen our community connections, and continue sharing the magic of Adelita's Antojitos.

Today, we continue to feature a menu influenced by regions in El Salvador and Mexico, led by Cocinera Adela Romero and her daughter-in-law, Alejandra Arenas. With a menu that changes depending on their mood, the base of the menu focuses on hominy corn, made to order pupusas, tamales, fresh aguas frescas and other antojitos.

Whether you encounter us slapping pupusas on a sunny day in the Mission, at a farmers market, or choose to cater your next event from a menu that transcends Salvadorian and Mexican borders, you can be sure to leave with full hearts.

Our Logo

Just as Adela's journey from El Salvador to the U.S. mirrors the migration of culinary traditions across borders, Alejandra explored crafting a logo that honors Adela’s agricultural roots with the Mayan jaguar, a symbol of agriculture, travel, and fertility. It represents the shared culinary heritage of El Salvador and Mexico, transcending borders and time.
